Full of character and original features, it makes a quaint and homely base for couples or families wanting to explore the rural and metropolitan attractions of Derbyshire. There is lots of local walking, and via Ashbourne is the Gateway to the Peak District.

Upon entering the property, you are welcomed by some wonderful original features that have been sympathetically restored to reflect the character of the property, with the clever blend of quality furniture and fixings. Discover the bright and airy living room, with soft carpet and inviting sofas which provide the perfect place to relax and unwind after a busy day’s exploration. The kitchen has everything to hand for you to prepare delicious meals for family or friends, which can be enjoyed together in the adjoining dining room. Make your way upstairs to find three welcoming bedrooms with views over the neighbouring fields, and completing the accommodation is a downstairs bathroom. There is a  patio area with furniture to enjoy the beautiful surroundings and outlook onto open fields with gated access to a future tiered patio area.

Why not venture to the city centre of Derby, via the bus stop 10 meters from the property, where you will find several amenities and attractions to suit all. Also, visit the quaint towns of Belper, Wirksworth and the beautiful attractions of the Peak District National Park to keep you busy. Bordered by the Peak District National Park and its natural beauty, Windmill Cottages is also conveniently close to many local attractions, including national trust properties such as Kedleston Hall, Cork Abbey and the magnificent Chatsworth House. On its doorstep are four golf courses, with a total of 31 in Derbyshire to choose from and make for great wedding locations.

Therefore they are now sharing the UK's best kept secret with you by inviting you to stay at the Windmill Cottage and experience Derbyshire. Patricia and Shaun manage the Windmill Cottage through a physical diary, this means that when you call or email to book you will be greeted by a warm welcome from the owners not a call assistant. They do all the cleaning and maintenance themselves ensuring that Windmill Cottage is ready to receive you with warm welcoming open arms.

Gas central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Welcome pack. Patio with garden furniture and barbecue. Garden (from summer 2023). Private parking for 1 car. Please no smoking. Please note: The garden is tiered. The garden is under maintenance until Summer 2023, some areas may be fenced off and inaccessible.
